On a server that is running Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0, you use the
WebDav DELETE command to delete a folder under a virtual directory. If the sum of the path lengths for the virtual directories that are configured in that Web site exceeds 4096 bytes, you may also delete all the Web site content.
Note This issue does not occur in IIS 7.0.
This issue occurs because WebDav does not retrieve the virtual directories correctly. When the path length of a virtual directory exceeds the buffer size of 4096 bytes, physical folders are returned in addition to the virtual directories. In such case, the delete command removes the contents from unintended locations.

You must have Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 installed to apply this hotfix.
