On a computer that is running the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you create a Microsoft Visual C# Web site project in a directory. The directory name contains parentheses. Then, you build the Visual C# Web site project. However, if an error exists, the file name and the line number are not reported as part of an error message. Instead, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
(0,0): error CSXXXX: expected.
Additionally, if you open the code file where the error is located, the error is not underlined, and no information shows that an error exists.
This problem occurs because the Code Document Object Model (CodeDOM) cannot distinguish the directory name that contains parentheses from the line number information from the compiler.
