A PNG image is displayed as a black shape in Word 2007 if you use OmniPage to scan the image
Consider the following scenario:
- You use Nuance OmniPage Professional 15.2 to scan an image.
- In OmniPage Professional, you save the document as a Word 2000 (*.rtf) file type.
Note The scanned image is saved in the Portable Network Graphics (PNG) format in the Microsoft Word 2000 file. - You open the file in Microsoft Office Word 2007.
In this scenario, the PNG image is displayed as a black shape in the Word 2007 document.
To work around this problem, open the Word 2000 (*rtf) file in Microsoft Office Word 2003.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.Â
This issue does not reproduce in Word 2010.
This problem may also occur in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007.
