This problem occurs if the Es.dll file is registered incorrectly.
To resolve this problem, register the Es.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Es.dll, and then click OK two times.
- Restart the computer.
The COM+ Event System service supports the System Event Notification service. If the COM+ Event System service is not running, the System Event Notification service does not provide logon and logoff notifications. Therefore, Office Communicator will not work as expected if the COM+ Event System service is registered incorrectly.
When you register the Es.dll file, the COM+ Event System service is registered correctly.
