Repairing SBS Fax does not create user groups

Symptom



If you delete the fax security group, repairing fax will not recreate the group.  The group must be manually re-created

Cause



The fax group was deleted.  Repair does not add fax groups to user rules.

Resolution



Manually create the group. to do this, follow these steps:

Manually re create the fax group.  To manually recreate the group, use the following steps:

1.       Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

2.       At the UAC prompt, click Continue.

3.       Expand <<your domain>>, MyBusiness and then click Security Groups.

Make sure the 2 fax groups are there, and if they are not, create them:
  • Windows SBS Fax Administrators
  • Windows SBS Fax Users


To create a group, follow these steps:

1.       Click on Action, New and select Group

2.       Type in the name of the group and click OK.
