Symptom

When you select files Windows Explorer and then refresh the window, selecting the files again will make the Status Bar show the incorrect size for the selected files. Every time you refresh the window, the Status Bar increments the size shown by adding the previous value to the actual size of selected files.

Cause

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Resolution

To workaround this issue, use the Details Pane instead of the Status Bar.

In order to enable the Details Pane, follow these steps:

1.       Open a Window Explorer window.

2.       On the Organize menu, select Layout and then Details Pane.
