WMI reports "GetUserDefaultLCID failed" after applying KB 914463 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2

After you apply KB 914463 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service reports the following error in wbemcore.log when connected without the specified locale or impersonation.

 GetUserDefaultLCID failed, restoring to system version

You may receive this error for successful WMI connections because of changes made in the design in KB 914463.Â

This error may be ignored.
