You cannot edit a ChemDraw drawing after you copy the drawing in an Office 2008 for Mac document and then paste it back into ChemDraw
You paste a ChemDraw drawing into a Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac document. When you copy the drawing in the Office 2008 for Mac document and then paste the drawing back into ChemDraw, you cannot edit the drawing.
To work around this problem, do one of the following:
- Save a copy of the original ChemDraw drawing before you paste it to an Office 2008 for Mac document. If you want to change the drawing, open the original drawing in ChemDraw, and then make the changes. After the changes are finished, paste the changed drawing into your Office 2008 for Mac document.
- Use Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac. This problem does not occur in Office 2004 for Mac when you copy the drawing in the Office 2004 for Mac document and then paste the drawing back into ChemDraw.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
