The ASP.NET urlMappings feature fails for SharePoint Server 2007 site templates other than the publishing portal

The urlMappings feature of ASP.Net fails for site templates other than the publishing portal. Get "An unexpected error has occurred" error message when it is used with the Report Center template.
The behavior is by design. The URLMapping feature is not supported with SharePoint.
