You cannot change the name of an Active Directory security group in SharePoint Server 2007
In Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, you cannot
change the name of an Active Directory security group. The Stsadm.exe -o migrateuser command only works for user accounts.
To resolve this issue, apply both of the following hotfix
packages:

Note After you apply the hotfix packages, you can use the
Stsadm.exe -o migrategroup command to change the name of an Active Directory security
group.
