The UnsupportedSQLServerVersion rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 warns you about SQL Server versions that are running with incompatible architecture or about unresponsive databases
The UnsupportedSQLServerVersion rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker
for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 warns you about SQL Server versions that are
running with incompatible architecture. This rule also warns you about SQL Server
versions that are running at an earlier update state than is required to upgrade to
the next version release that supersedes Windows SharePoint Services and
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Additionally, this rule lists
unresponsive databases.
Note The UnsupportedSQLServerVersion rule ships in the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 cumulative
update package that was released in October 2009. It is not part of the
original release of Pre-Upgrade Checker. The original release of Pre-Upgrade Checker ships in
Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
When you run Pre-Upgrade Checker, the UnsupportedSQLServerVersion rule reports
information about computers that are running versions of SQL Server that do not
meet the minimum version requirements. The rule reports this information in the
following format:
DataSource =
data source name, Version = SQL version
number, 64-bit Edition =
Yes/No
This rule reports
information about unresponsive databases in the following format:
DataSource = data source name, Name =
[database name]

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
