PowerPoint 2007 stops responding when you try to print or send a fax on a computer that is running Windows 7
Consider the following scenario. You install a printer or a fax driver on a computer that is running Windows 7. Then, you try to print or send a fax from Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007. Office PowerPoint 2007 stops responding. However, you can still use other applications. You may encounter this problem when the following condition is true:
After you click OK in the Print dialog box in PowerPoint 2007, a dialog box appears that prompts you to enter user information for the printer or the fax.
A hotfix package is now available to resolve this issue.
Description of the Office PowerPoint 2007 hotfix package (Powerpoint-x-none.msp, Pptconv-x-none.msp): June 29, 2010

To work around this problem, end the powerpnt.exe process in Task Manager. Then, print the presentation to Microsoft XPS Document Writer (MXDW) or save the presentation as a .pdf file. You can then print or fax the XPS/PDF file using your default XPS/PDF viewer.
To end the Powerpnt.exe process, follow these steps:
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.
2. Click Start Task Manager.
3. In Task Manager, click the Processes tab.
4. Click POWERPNT.EXE, and then click End Process.
5. Click End process to end the Powerpnt.exe process.
6. Exit Task Manager.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
