SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Windows Server 2008, you try to use Microsoft Outlook through an RPC over HTTP connection (Outlook Anywhere feature). However, Microsoft Outlook crashes and you receive an error message. If you click Show problem details in this error message, you see detailed information that resembles the following:
Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47919ed8, faulting module rpchttp.dll, version 6.0.6001.22276, time stamp 0x48e1b703, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000000000002067d, process id 0x39a0, application start time 0x01ca1541323dc94f.

This indicates that the W3wp.exe process crashes.

CAUSE

The W3wp.exe process crashes because of an error in the RPC proxy component.

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back. Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry edits), please consult a professional.

Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
