In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or in Microsoft SQL Server 2008, you use the BCP.exe utility together with the -R parameter and the -F parameter to specify a BCP file. However, the -R parameter may be ignored.

For example, you specify a date format in the regional settings of the operating system in which SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008 is running. Then, you run the BCP.exe utility together with the -R parameter and the -F parameter. In this situation, the date format that you specify may be ignored, and you receive the following error message:

SQL Server 2005

The fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3.
